Considered one of the greatest Dutch actresses of the 20th century, Van der Moer was often called the ‘Queen of the Leidseplein’ (the theatre hotspot of Amsterdam). Famous for her stage performances in classic plays like Shakespeare’s Macbeth, Vondel’s Gysbrecht van Amstel, Chekhov’s Three Sisters, Tennessee Williams’s The Rose Tattoo and both Euripides’s and Goethe’s version of Iphigneia, she also appeared in several Dutch films.
