Gonzalo Ladines (Lima, 1984) is a Peruvian screenwriter and director with eighteen years of experience. He has worked in film, television, web content, and advertising. He is the co-creator of the web series Los Cinéfilos (33 million views), co-writer of Viejos Amigos (500,000 viewers), and director and writer of his debut feature film, Como en el Cine (236,000 viewers, Audience Award at Newfilmmakers LA, sponsored by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences). Ladines also wrote the screenplay for the first Peruvian film sold for international remakes (to Spain, Italy, Mexico, India, and the prestigious French production company Studio Canal). Dead of Laughter (2024), his second feature film as director-writer, received a grant from the Carolina Foundation, won the National Feature Film Award from the Peruvian Ministry of Culture, was selected for the Lima Film Festival and the San Diego Latino Film Festival, nominated at the Montreal Independent Film Festival, and nominated for the Peruvian Film Critics Association (APRECI) Awards for Best Screenplay, Best Actor, and Best Supporting Actor. Gonzalo also works as a television screenwriter, teacher, and film script consultant.
