Kavanagh made her feature directorial debut with Taryn Barker: Demon Hunter, an independently financed action-horror film that earned multiple festival awards, including Best Director at the HorrorHound Film Festival, and launched the Taryn Barker franchise. She later wrote and directed the sequel, Demon Hunter: Time 2 Kill, expanding the series with a blend of supernatural horror, action, slasher, dark comedy, and time-travel adventure.
