Emilia

María Emilia Mernes Rueda (born October 29, 1996), professionally known as Emilia, is an Argentine singer, songwriter, actress, and model. Born in Nogoyá, Entre Ríos, she first gained recognition in 2016 as the lead female vocalist of the Uruguayan pop-cumbia band Rombai before launching her solo career in 2019. Since then, she has become one of the leading figures in Latin pop and urban music, earning international success through her albums, chart-topping singles, and collaborations with artists across Latin America and Spain. Alongside her music career, Emilia has also worked as an actress and has expanded her presence in film and television through acting roles and numerous music video appearances. Although primarily recognized as a Pop artist, Emilia has developed a growing screen career. She made her acting debut portraying Sofía in the Disney+ original series Intertwined (Entrelazados), appearing in its first season. In addition to scripted acting, she has starred in dozens of her own music videos and collaborative productions, establishing a strong audiovisual identity that complements her work as one of Argentina's most successful contemporary pop artists.
