Jano Burmester (Lima, 1980) is a Peruvian filmmaker, screenwriter, producer, and founder of ATIAJA FILM. He created Poética Fílmica, an analog film training project for young people. His work combines analog and digital formats to explore themes such as memory, grief, and emotional bonds from a poetic and socially engaged perspective. He is currently developing Sonqo Pampay, a film shot on 16mm and spoken in Quechua and Spanish, whose story unfolds between Lima and Paucartambo, Pasco. This work will be projected in 35mm as an aesthetic and political statement in support of celluloid cinema. His filmography includes Hogar, a documentary that premiered at the 25th Lima Film Festival; Regreso, an internationally acclaimed short film; and Marcelita, a short film shot on Super 8 and 16mm, selected for the Melbourne International Film Festival. He has taught at institutions such as USMP, UPC, MALI, and Toulouse Lautrec, and has served on juries at festivals such as FENACI. In 2024 he received the Ibermedia Award for co-production for the project Desidia, by Leandro Grillo.
