Amish Srivastava is an award-winning TV journalist and filmmaker based in Baltimore, specializing in documentary and fiction storytelling. His recent documentary on the Ukraine-Russia war, Jamala: Songs of Freedom, won the Golden Dolphin at the 2024 Cannes Corporate Media & TV Awards in Cannes and was showcased at the Kennedy Center’s Extraordinary Cinema series. Over the past two decades, Srivastava has reported on major conflicts—including the Iraq War, the Kargil War between India and Pakistan, and post-Taliban Afghanistan—and directed films that explore resilience and humanity. Among his acclaimed works is Hell and Hope, which follows the harrowing journey of Yazidi girls abducted and enslaved by ISIS and was featured at numerous international festivals. He also directed Biscut, his debut fiction short about a Dalit man’s daily struggle for survival, which rose to the top of the charts on Hotstar-Disney.
