Jo Halpin is a seasoned film industry professional, well-known for her warmth, wit and innovative approach to filmmaking. She has worked alongside industry giants Ridley Scott, Russell Crowe and Dame Maggie Smith – providing her with invaluable insights into the intricacies of large-scale productions. Her recent credits include major motion pictures: The Banshees of Inisherin, Gran Turismo, Nuremberg, Disenchanted, The Pope’s Exorcist and The Last Duel. A trusted senior collaborator, she expertly balances the demands of major productions whilst catalysing creativity into every project.
Jo’s experience in a diverse range of roles in the industry has fostered an impressive ability to collaborate – a key strength to her production approach at Charmer Pictures.
Recent production credits include 6 festival award winning short films, commercials for brands such as Oatly & Aerlingus and music videos for notable artists such as Nina Nesbitt. She’s a champion of Irish talent, producing award-winning short films such as Pat, Spent, and Tar Anseo. Her most recent production was a TV special for RTÉ’s Storyland series called Shush.
Jo has also applied her writing and directing skills to more intimate projects. She has directed two critically acclaimed short comedy dramas: Porter – winner of Best Short at Munich New Wave Short Film Festival and Magic – Winner of Best Actor and Best Actress at Dublin International Comedy Film Festival.
