Angela Blake is the Co-Founder and Director of SF3 – the SmartFone Flick Fest, the world’s largest film festival dedicated to smartphone filmmaking and recognized as one of 12 must-visit film festivals by American Express. Angela leads SF3’s extensive education program, teaching smartphone filmmaking and storytelling in Australia and internationally, including in Africa, Europe, North America, and Asia. As an Accessible Filmmaking Tutor for Bus Stop Films, Angela mentors adults with disabilities and marginalized communities, directing and co-writing multiple award-winning iPhone short films. Her work has been recognized at international festivals like Cinephone in Spain, the Byron Bay International Film Festival, and MOMA. Additionally, Angela is experienced in festival creation, having founded the Lithgow Halloween Film Competition and the Short+Sweet Film Festival, and serves as a judge for numerous film festivals worldwide. Angela is an accomplished director, writer, and performer in film and theatre. She has directed and written several short films and theatre productions, including the award-winning Weeing on a Stick. Passionate about education, she teaches filmmaking and acting with organizations such as NIDA, WIFT NSW, and various community programs. As a performer, her credits include A Place to Call Home, Love Child, and Top of the Lake: China Girl. She holds degrees in Communications and Creative Writing and is currently developing multiple feature film projects, including two horror films in production.
