Read biography
Dylan Hamar is an American director and cinematographer. His first filmmaking role was making commercials and short documentaries for companies. However, his love of classic horror and suspense led him to pursue making narratives more heavily. By 2020, he became the Idaho Treasure Valley's premier horror filmmaker. He garnered critical acclaim for his cinematography with 2020's Dead Rose (also writer and director), won a Best Film award for 2021's Wolflike (director), and won his first Best Director Award (and Best Cinematography Award) for 2023's Man in the Hat. Dylan draws inspiration in his directing and shooting styles from filmmakers such as Alfred Hitchcock and John Carpenter. His use of high-contrast shots and preference for minimal dialogue has set him apart in his filmmaking community. - TMDb mini biography by: Alek Jetsel
