Lina Ross is an independent filmmaker and director based in Northeast Ohio. In 2024, Ross wrote and directed three experimental short films, including Cooking with Quilts, which premiered at the Hiram College Annual Juried Art Show and was featured at Akron’s annual The Groundhog Show in 2026. During her time at Kent State University, she served as the head writer and director for the Female Filmmakers Initiative in her senior year, culminating in her short film Casting Call. Following screenings at the KSU Student Film Showcase and the FFI Senior Showcase, Casting Call is currently navigating the festival circuit. She graduated in class of 2026 with a degree in Integrative Studies, specializing in creative and critical film studies, gender studies, and English. She is currently a graduate student at Case Western Reserve University in the School of Medicine’s Bioethics and Medical Humanities program while continuing to pursue local creative projects.
