Horia Bazavan

Horia Bazavan is an award-winning Romanian-born actor, director, and producer based in the United Kingdom. He began training in theatre at the age of nine and has worked professionally for over a decade, including early recognition touring Romania with two original one-man shows. His screen credits include Wednesday, Soul, Bound, The Seventh Circle, and Rusalia showcasing a range across both commercial and independent projects. Alongside acting, he develops his own work as a filmmaker, with a focus on visually driven, atmospheric storytelling influenced by mythology and psychological themes. In 2025, he wrote, directed, and produced Rusalia, an experimental short inspired by Romanian folklore. The film achieved international festival success, earning multiple awards including Best Arthouse Film (Absurd Film Festival, Milan), Best Director and Best Indie Short (World Class Film Awards), and Best Short Film (Grand Laurel International Film Festival, Florence), alongside numerous nominations across festivals in the UK, USA, Italy, Portugal, Poland, and Japan. Bazavan is also a certified musician and is fluent in multiple languages, bringing a versatile and multidisciplinary approach to his work across performance and film.
