Roxana - A climate story
In the Peruvian Amazon, many indigenous communities still live without reliable access to electricity or the internet. At the same time, large-scale fossil fuel projects are encroaching on the region. In Alto Mishagua, this contradiction forms the backdrop to Roxana’s story. When Roxana returns home during the pandemic, her village feels more isolated than ever, and the warnings from the elders grow ever more urgent: their forest is changing, the rains are shifting, and life is becoming increasingly uncertain. Together with other young people, she begins to imagine a different future, based on clean, independent energy.
