Canción norteña: Los Cumaná de Coquimbo
Tells the story of the tropical music group Los Cumaná, formed in 1970 in the port of Coquimbo. This group was distinguished by performing original repertoire at a time when the trend in Chilean tropical music was to cover a repertoire that was fundamentally international. Los Cumaná recorded six full-length albums between 1970 and 1976, toured throughout northern Chile, and also performed abroad: in Peru, the United States, and Belgium. Their intense and rich trajectory was marked not only by the success the group achieved in its early years, but also by the difficulties this group of young musicians from Coquimbo had to face.
